With over 40 years of economic and community development experience, Mike’s insights and expertise bring complex projects to completion. He has federal, state, local and private sector experience in developing urban land. Brownfields, sports complexes, market and affordable housing, community facilities, parks, major infrastructure, industrial projects and retail expansion are all woven throughout his career. Most recently he was executive director of the Capital Region Development Authority and has managed municipal development organizations in NY and Connecticut, a private real estate LLC attached to a financial institution, as well as CRDA, a state quasi-public agency specializing in public private partnerships. He has managed multiple millions in public and private money while producing thousands of units of housing and commercial renewal.
The recipient of numerous awards for his work including Public Service Award from the State of Connecticut, several distinguished alumni and professional awards and as a Presidential Management Intern in Washington, Mike has been part of American teams assisting Eastern European countries and communities in Japan to establish economic development programs, and has been voted as one of five people to watch in Hartford on several occasions. He has a BA in Economics from University of Connecticut, MPA in Urban Administration and Public Finance from George Washington University and has served as senior legislative assistant within the U.S. House of Representatives.
