Company History
Vita Nuova was founded nearly 30 years ago to provide strategic guidance on complex real estate and redevelopment projects, helping clients navigate environmental, legal, and financial considerations that often impede progress. The firm emerged during the early years of the brownfields movement, and its founders played a leading role in developing the original ASTM Standard for Sustainable Brownfields Redevelopment, published in 1998, which became the foundation for today’s brownfields redevelopment process.
Vita Nuova began taking on brownfield sites one project at a time. Working with some of the largest corporations in the world, communities of all sizes, and many of the country’s most successful development entities, the company developed innovative approaches to bring unique solutions to some of the toughest redevelopment challenges.
While helping shape national policy, Vita Nuova applied its expertise to redevelop distressed properties and advance projects that others had been unable to move forward, including sites that large brokerage firms had failed to sell. From major urban centers to small towns, Vita Nuova has worked to identify opportunities, overcome obstacles, and deliver redevelopment outcomes that benefit both clients and communities.
