Marita Roos, LEED AP

Landscape Architect

Marita Roos is a landscape architect and urban planner who brings a strategic approach to land development, offering expertise in sustainable design, urban planning, green infrastructure, ecological restoration, historic preservation, and community spaces. Her specialty is reconnecting communities and natural systems through the repurposing of marginal, disjunct and abandoned urban sites. 

She has developed ecological plans for riverfronts throughout the mid-Atlantic US, emphasizing civic and economic revitalization through a clear articulation of issues, solid best practices and community engagement.

Marita has been principal landscape architect for HNTB in Washington DC, coordinating infrastructure planning with sustainable design for the Anacostia Waterfront Initiative in southeast DC. She spent much of her career as an owner and principal with Andropogon Associates, an internationally-known ecological design firm in Philadelphia PA, focusing on planning and design for municipal and institutional clients.
