Eric Rothstein

Senior Ecologist/Water Engineer

Eric Rothstein specializes in ecosystem restoration and stormwater management within urbanized and compromised watersheds.

Mr. Rothstein is a hydrologist with over ten years of experience working on a variety of urban and post-industrial sustainability projects. He worked as a project manager for the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation’s Natural Resources Group for over seven years. In that capacity, he managed ecological restorations including salt marshes, fresh water wetlands, grasslands, and forests throughout the New York City area.

In his position with a national ecological restoration firm in New York City, Mr. Rothstein worked on master planning of ecological, hydrology, stormwater management, and soil components for large-scale developments. He was instrumental in managing projects in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Arverne East, Queens and Sands Point, Nassau County.

Mr. Rothstein has lectured on wetland restoration issues and stormwater management at the graduate level at Harvard University, Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania. He teaches continuing education courses to professionals through the State University of New York’s College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

Mr. Rothstein holds a Bachelor’s in Agricultural Engineering (emphasis in Hydrology and Soil Science) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master’s in Biological Engineering (emphasis in Hydrogeology) from Cornell University.
