John Worlund, P.E.

Risk Management Consultant

John Worlund has over 25 years of environmental engineering experience working for federal and state agencies and private industry consulting.

Mr. Worlund has served as a field engineer and program manager responsible for design and construction of water and sewer facilities, a regulator responsible for all water-related programs and a leading authority on site assessment remediation issues related to hazardous waste. He has worked closely with tribal governments, federal, state and county agencies, and allied health professionals.

Mr. Worlund is a member of an ASTM committee developing national standards for environmental site assessments and wetlands. He served as chairman of the task group developing the nationwide training program on the ASTM Site Assessment Standard. Mr. Worlund was chairman of the National ASTM Subcommittee E50.01 Storage Tanks. Two of the most widely recognized standards he managed are Risk-based Corrective Actions (RBCA) and Remediation by Natural Alternatives (RNA).

Mr. Worlund has served as chief facilitator and trainer in dozens of decision-making processes and in courses around the country for colleges and universities, non-profit and professional organizations. His experience ranges widely, from training and facilitating among professionals and peers to multi-stakeholder groups of regulators and industry leaders, as well as Indian tribes.

Mr. Worlund has a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and Master’s in Environmental Health Engineering from the University of Kansas. He is licensed as a Civil Engineer in California, (C-21174), Nevada (No.6753), Idaho (No.7664), and Washington (No.34947).
